560 park drivers trained over last two weeks
sponsored by Cox & Kings.
In cooperation with the Field Director’s of Pench, Panna, Kanha and Bandhavgrah, over 540 drivers who game drive visitors in the park, where given new skills and knowledge about their job including, visitor interaction, 4x4 driving, codes of conduct, wildlife viewing, vehicle turnout, crowd control, and the importance of game driving in India’s parks. Kartikeya Singh Chauhan, an experienced and award winning naturalist, guide and researcher led the training, and was supported by two other training colleagues.
Much was learnt and visitors should see very demonstrable results in parks this coming season.
Huge thanks go to Cox and Kings, TOFT Wildlife Tourism Awards 2012 winners in the best Tour Operator for Wildlife promotion, for funding this training programme, and the Field Directors and range officers for arranging this. It was ably coordinated by Shekhar Kolipaka, TOFT’s Head of Training
