Your Action Plan for driving sustainability in nature tourism

2017 is the United Nations International Year of Sustainable Tourism

2017 is the United Nations International Year of Sustainable Tourism

The Reason

Though India is ranked 17th in the world for extraordinary natural biodiversity, the same UNWTO 2015 report says India is 139th out of 141 countries for environmental sustainability. Next door neighbour Sri Lanka is 15th – so we have a lot of work to do.
TOFTigers aim is to support changes in policies, business practices, and consumer behaviour towards a more sustainable nature and wildlife tourism sector in India and South Asia.
So as a TOFTigers member in 2017 we are asking you and your business to make some real positive commitments to help us drive our mission.

TOFT votingWelcome to the voting portal for TOFTigers Wildlife Tourism Awards. Make your vote count for nature. TOFTigers Wildlife Tourism Awards aim to highlight and reward the very best in the nature tourism field – businesses, individuals, service providers and community enterprises who are leading the way in wilderness destinations in the Indian subcontinent. Each in their own way will be pioneering new ways to support and inspire wildlife conservation, engage local communities and help restoration of wildlife habitat through their vision, drive and actions. There are nine Award categories, five of which are eligible for voting. You can vote as an individual traveller or as a member of the travel industry or travel media by registering and logging into the voting system. Voting closes at midnight on 8th July.
