Maharaja's Royal Retreat

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

The Royal Retreat is owned by the Maharaja of Rewa, the ancestral regal owner of vast tracts of the surrounding wilderness. The property, his original hunting lodge, is in 16 acres of dense cover full of old trees and bamboo, which attracts a large number of birds, butterflies and other wildlife. It also provides ample shade for the cottages ensuring you feel part of the surrounding jungle. The 6 heritage rooms are in the 120 years old building, being first used as a tax collection office and later as a hunting lodge, with historical decor, a historic museum of artifacts and an old well stocked antiquarian library.

Rooms

There are 6 Heritage Royal Suites that have quality facilities, spacious bathrooms and dress rooms with private verandas. A further 15 deluxe Air conditioned cottages with ensuite facilities are in the lodge grounds and all include modern amenities and facilities.

Meals

Our real forte is our cuisine, with Indian dishes from our Royal kitchen, and Continental and Chinese. The breakfast is taken under an Old Banyan Tree

Facilities

Conferences, Gala and Theme Dinner with the Maharaja, Game drives, Bird walk with naturalist, laundry, inhouse doctor, and lectures/student interactions in the evenings.
