Red Earth Resort

Nagarhole Tiger Reserve

Red Earth - Kabini is located in H.D. Kote Taluk, Mysore District, Karnataka.  Brand Kabini, needs no mention; it has been rated as one of the top five destinations worldwide for wildlife.  Red Earth is located in beautiful surroundings absolutely untouched by development and yet very close to civilization.
It is situated on the back-waters of the Kabini dam; the land has water as its boundary on two sides. The river Kapila across which the dam has been built divides the Bandipur and Nagarhole National Parks.

Red Earth has been developed to provide an informal and homely atmosphere for our guests, combined with quality care and personalised service.

Rooms

Twenty cottages (with three different designs) are set in two clusters of ten cottages around a small lake. All cottages are air-conditioned and spacious with their own open-to-the-sky jacuzzis (hot water on request 8-10am and 7-9pm in keeping with our eco-policies). There are three Honeymoon cottages and one cottage is designed for the physically challenged. Room facilities include coffee/tea maker, mini fridge and cable television. In line with the overall concern for the environment, all the buildings have been built out of mud and with minimum usage of steel/cement and concrete. To encourage our guests to partake in nature and enjoy our hospitality, we have no intercoms and offer no room service.

Meals

Food has a focus on the healthy and the aesthetic. Organic fresh vegetables are used in abundance and are sourced from the local villages. A watering hole located in the middle of the lake has been aptly named Wet lands. This colonial style bar is ideal to relax with a few sundowners.
