India’s most well known nature film maker, TV presenter, conservationist and environmental advocate with a string of Green Oscars to his name. Voted Time Magazine Earth Hero 2009.


Author, Editor and Conservationist, he is one of India’s most outspoken conservationists who has been raising awareness in India through his environment and wildlife magazine, Sanctuary Asia for over 25 years.He is also instigator of the huge Kids for Tigers programme.


The father of wildlife tourism, he started in Bandhavgarh in the early 1980’s. He is a respected naturalist and has been on Madhya Pradesh’s Wildlife Board for many years, as well as being a long term member of its Legislative Assembly till 2008.



Founder Chairman of Travel Operators for Tigers, he was until recently the Managing Director of an award winning Wildlife Travel company called Discovery Initiatives (now Steppes Discovery). His role is to coordinate the event and the awards themselves.
