Most famous for the tiger, it also hosts the ‘big five’ – lions, rhinos, elephants, leopard and buffalo – as well as four bear species, wolves, an ape species, wild dog, a prolific range of bird species and even squirrels and snakes that can fly.

Most of the PUG eco rated lodges listed in the Guide have their own in-house naturalists offering a range of options for wildlife viewing from game drives in jeeps to guided nature walks, viewing from hides, tree machans and elephant back as well as experts in photography and bird watching. Boat trips, rafting, kayaks and even canoe safaris are also offered in some parks.
