traditional dish consisting of lentil soup (dal)
served with rice (Bhat) and a variety of side
dishes such as pickles, vegetables, and meat
curries. Chatamari- a kind of Nepali crepe,
often topped with meat, eggs, and spices. It’s a
popular local snack. Newari Cuisine- Don’t miss
the rich, spicy flavors of Newar dishes, like
Yomari (steamed sweet dumplings), Chhoila
(spiced grilled meat), and Samay Baji (a
traditional Newar platter).
Hiking Around Kathmandu- Some of the
most recommended hiking trails include the
Sundarijal-Shivapuri trail, the Champadevi trail,
and the Jamacho hike. Mountain Biking- Cycle
at your own pace on up and down trails used for
centuries by villagers. Visit Swayambhunathan
iconic stupa perched on a hill with panoramic
views of the city, it is one of the oldest and
most important religious sites in Nepal. It’s also
a great spot for sunset or sunrise views. Visit
Bouddhanath- Kathmandu’s largest and most
vibrant Buddhist stupa. Visit Pashupatinathone
of the most sacred Hindu sites in the world.
