Bina Kak is a seasoned politician, former Rajasthan Minister of Forest and Tourism, a well-known actor, renowned social activist, passionate wildlifer, photographer and author on the wild tigers of Ranthambhore. As minister, she was instrumental in having the Kumbhalgarh sanctuary converted to a national park. In 2013, she played a key role in getting Mukandara Hills notified as third tiger reserve after Ranthambore and Sariska. Kak recently published a book namely Silent Sentinels of Ranthambore as well as a unique field guide to Ranthambhore’s individual tigers. She also founded Umang, and organisation that works with children with special needs. She was an honorary Awards committee member of the TOFTigers Wildlife Travel Awards 2018.
