Wilderness Travel

Wilderness Travel offers extraordinary cultural, wildlife and hiking adventures spanning every corner of the globe, including a collection of unforgettable journeys to India and Nepal. Since 1978, people have entrusted their travel dreams to WT, and the quality of their itinerary design and leadership has earned Wilderness Travel one of the highest rates of repeat travelers in the business. T...heir core philosophy is elegantly simple: it’s not just where you travel, but how you travel that sets a trip apart. The magic of the how at Wilderness Travel comes from expert Trip Leaders who bring passion and deep knowledge of their destination that makes all the difference to your experience. They are experts in their fields— naturalists, art historians, photographers, mountaineers— who have a remarkable gift for sharing their knowledge and introducing you to their favorite places, people, and behind-the-scenes spots you won't find in any guidebooks. The Wilderness Travel team is always unrolling the maps, looking for hidden routes, and dreaming up new ways to experience this amazing planet with fellow explorers. Join a WT adventure to experience a meticulously planned and artfully executed itinerary, and the camaraderie of traveling with a small group, or even your own private group

Responsible Travel

Wilderness Travel is profoundly committed to conservation and the communities where we travel. By going so deeply into remote regions, we bring our tourism dollars as far as we can into communities, and towards conservation. We are founding members of several conservation groups and actively support many more, including the Galapagos Conservancy, American Himalayan Foundation, Jane Goodall Institute, reforestation projects on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, and coral reef protection in Palau, and many projects created by our Trip Leaders, working deep in their communities. We also create special events that contribute to wildlife conservation. WT's best practices go back to our beginnings and continue to strengthen.
