TOFTigers India

The Travel Operators for Tigers India Wildlife Association (TOFTigers India) is a separate entity, a registered not-for-profit company, an Indian Section 25 registered charity with offices in New Delhi, India.

Executive Directors

Vishal Singh

Vishal is Executive Director of the TOFTigers India charity.

He is passionate about conservation as well as travel savvy. He has wealth of local connections and regional knowledge. His childhood was spent in Tea Estates on fringes of the Kaziranga National Park where at an early age experienced human animal conflict and degradation of forest cover. His schooling is from Indian’s premier public school Mayo College in western India, and then Graduation from Welcome Graduate School of Hotel Management in southern India. He worked with Sheraton in Mumbai and Delhi before his MBA for IMI and established his own travel company, Royal Expeditions in 1995. He was a founder of TOFTigers and remains its Executive Director.

Shyamendra Singh

Shyamendra Singh, is a respected conservationist and ecotourism professional. Starting with his Panna property and home, the Ken River Lodge, he also co-founded Pugdundee Safaris, with PUG certified ecolodges now across Madhya Pradesh and Nepal. These are flagships for conservation and ecotourism. With his wife Bhavna, who shares his passion for conservation, they manage various tourism, plantation forestry, and eco-development projects around the Panna National Park. He has been a member of the MP wildlife board.

Deepika Chowdhry

A highly reputed and respected professional marketer with more than 22 years’ experience in the world of hospitality and tourism. Well connected not only with MICE and leisure buyers but also within the wildlife, adventure and travel agent community in India and overseas. Her extensive experience includes roles with renowned international exhibitions such as IMEX, ILTM, and IT&MA, Luxperience, AIME etc to name a few. She is the Founder CEO of Candid India, a tourism & hospitality representation company based in New Delhi and runs the TOFTigers India office.

PUG Campaign

Ritu Makhija

Ritu Makhija, joins us as PUG Campaign Manager, having spent a number of years with The British School, Delhi organising travel programmes and events there after other marketing and conference roles. Recently she helped set up and market the Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart. Her focus is developing the PUG certification scheme, driving its use within the travel trade and as a buyer’s tool for consumers, alongside training and networking within the travel trade membership community. Her aim is to ensure responsible nature tourism becomes part of business ethics across the subcontinent.

Administration

Shiela Chopra

Shiela is working with Candid India for the last 8 years and has been Head of Administration at TOFTigers India for five years. She is involved in day-to-day communication with the TOFTigers India members. Her role is to develop membership, communication with members in addition to handling networking and the awards programme. Shiela Chopra is a tireless and efficient professional with keen understanding of the organisation and its mission.
