TOFT India: Ushering a New Era of Sustainability in Tourism

TOFTigers, established in 2004 to support the Tiger Project, has spent the past two decades championing responsible tourism practices. Through relentless efforts, it successfully built a strong network of over 200 stakeholders, including accommodation providers, Indian travel agents, and international tour operators, all united by a shared commitment to sustainability.

This collective effort has expanded TOFTigers’ reach to 27 national parks and destinations, facilitating meaningful engagement with local communities, creating livelihood opportunities, and supporting numerous grassroots initiatives. However, with the escalating climate crisis demanding urgent action, TOFTigers has undergone a bold transformation, rebranding itself as TOFT India with a renewed identity and mission.

To commemorate its 20th anniversary, TOFT India proudly unveils its newly designed logo. The modern visual—a globe cloaked in greenery and adorned with silhouettes of iconic wildlife—represents the organization’s commitment to global conservation efforts. Its sleek and forward-thinking design underscores TOFT India’s role as a leader in promoting sustainable tourism practices.

TOFT India is now focused on driving sustainability deeper into the tourism industry, striving to transform tourism into a force for preserving natural ecosystems and empowering local communities. With an inclusive “bottom-up” approach, the organization aims to bring state tourism departments and stakeholders into a unified fold of conservation, benefitting not just protected areas but urban destinations as well.

This revitalized identity marks a significant step forward in TOFT India’s journey, reflecting its dedication to tackling the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. It symbolizes hope, action, and unity—urging the tourism community to embrace sustainable practices that benefit both people and the planet.

With its broadened reach and commitment to eco-friendly tourism, TOFT India is poised to inspire a new era of travel that protects regions rich natural heritage while uplifting local communities for generations to come.
